Radhika is an award-winning freelance journalist who writes regularly on women’s issues and social affairs for broadsheet newspapers and lifestyle magazines in the UK. She is the author of two novels, Virgin and Not That Easy, which have been published in 13 countries and turned into a TV show by Blackpills US, on which Radhika is working as a consultant.
This year, she launched a body positive movement called ‘#sideprofileselfie’ where she posted a photo of her large nose onto social media and encouraged others to join in. The idea was to help change the white beauty standard and prove that ‘flaws’ can be redefined as beauty. It went viral, with more than 10,000 women taking their own #sideprofileselfies.
Radhika will be talking about body positivity. We love the underlying message of her campaign about how we can turn apparent setbacks and limitations into opportunities and how women do not have to be constrained by stereotypical notions of beauty.
